Community Development

Saira Jafri is an International Medical Graduate and has worked in the public health field for nine years.  She has extensive experience in outreach work, community building, counseling and organizing events for communities. Saira has worked and volunteered as an outreach worker at South Riverdale Community Health Centre on Building Breast Healthy Neighborhoods (BBHN). Saira also volunteered in the DECNET program as Diabetes Peer Educator, for the South Asian Women Centre, and Ontario Early Year Centre involved in advocacy on different health issues for the South Asian Women.

Saira is excited to be working with TIGP again as a Community Development Worker. She previously worked with TIGP between 2010-2012. After spending a few years working in the Middle East as a Bone Marrow Transplant Research Coordinator, she is looking forward to rejoining the TIGP team and building relationships in the community.

Saira is multi-lingual, speaking English, Urdu, Gujrati and Hindi

In her spare time, Saira likes to watch television, listen to music and spend quality time with her daughter.
