DIY Wednesdays

Each Wednesday we look at crafts and projects that you can DIY (do it yourself) mostly using items you find around your home. There are projects for all ages including ones you can do with your kids or grandkids to promote the intergenerational transfer of knowledge. At Toronto Intergenerational Partnerships we say, it’s not always about the craft that is made, but the genuine and meaningful interaction that comes from making it.

Healthy at Home 101

Nowadays, people are using natural solutions for everyday health problems over prescription drugs. Modern medicine has effectively treated a wide range of illnesses for many individuals; however, they have some side effects. Some possible side effects are worth the potential relief or health benefits occurring after their use.

Modern medicine can be used in conjunction with natural remedies. Getting information from your doctor and other medical practitioners, as well as details from a naturopath, may help you to choose an option that is right for your body.

Natural remedies are derived directly from plants or other natural sources and offer impressive health benefits. With naturally occurring ingredients, one can heal pain and inflammation, treat viral and bacterial infections, colds, and cough. It can also help reduce the risk of cancer, boost the immune system and cardiovascular health. Many of these natural remedies are found in our kitchens, and at times in home gardens. They’re readily available, and a simple DIY trick is all you need to prepare the right option you need.

TIGP is very excited to launch our new virtual program on natural remedies for common problems,” Healthy at Home 101,” This twelve-week program, will provide home/natural remedies for everyday health problems.
