Opportunities

We ask that TIGP volunteers follow our guidelines, including –

  • be reliable and committed to their volunteer role
  • attend orientation and training sessions, specific to their volunteer role
  • fulfill the requirements of a police reference check and provide two references
  • commit to being involved for the duration of their volunteer role

Examples of our volunteer opportunities, located in many wheelchair accessible locations, include:

  • Seniors in Cyberspace – teach older generations about new technology (i.e. computer, Internet, Iphones, Ipads, Nintendo Wii, etc.)
  • Health and Wellness – teach older generations about nutrition, fitness, healthy lifestyles and more
  • Program Assistants – support our program coordinator in leading group activities within long-term care facilities and in community settings (i.e.  arts & crafts, drama, art, storytelling, etc.)
  • Intergenerational Clubs and Committees – start or participate in a club or committee to promote intergenerational spirit at secondary schools to enable youth to obtain their community service volunteer hours
  • Episodic volunteer opportunities include – special events, fundraisers, bingo, board of directors, ad hoc committees, administration, choirs, storytelling and more!
